Consent granted for Widnes industrial scheme

Widnes Regeneration, a joint venture between St Modwen and Halton council, has been granted planning permission for an industrial development in the Lancashire town.

The joint venture will develop 50,000 sq ft of industrial starter units at Heron Business Park, part of the Widnes Economic Development Zone (EDZ).

Due to start on site in May, the scheme will comprise 11 units of between 3,000 sq ft and 8,500 sq ft, with completion scheduled for the end of the year.

Simon James of Widnes Regeneration said: “Since acquiring the site from Lafarge we have moved rapidly to get an agreed scheme.

“It is the first stage of a rolling programme of development by Widnes Regeneration in the EDZ which will help to underpin Widnes’ long term viability.”

Dixon Webb will act as letting agent on the scheme.
