Consortium set to submit plans for £100m Brighton scheme

The New England Consortium is preparing to submit plans for a £100m mixed-use scheme on a 6ha (15-acre) brownfield site to the east of Brighton Station.

Brighton and Hove council has approved a brief for the scheme at the former station goods yard site which comprises 270 to 400 homes, B1 business units, a supermarket, A1 and A3 shops, a hotel and a training centre.

The New England Consortium, which was formed last year, comprises site owner Railtrack, J Sainsbury’s Developments, Gleeson Homes, project manager QED, design consultant URBED and Chetwood Architects.

The consortium hopes to have submitted a planning application early next year.
