Consortium swoops on Gotham City

A CC Land-led consortium of four Hong Kong investors is to buy a majority stake in City of London tower development 40 Leadenhall, EC3.

The 905,000 sq ft development, known as Gotham City, is currently owned by TH Real Estate, which will retain a minority stake and continue to take the scheme forward.

CC Land made its mark in the UK when it bought The Leadenhall Building, EC3 – commonly known as the Cheesegrater – earlier this year for £1.15bn.

It has since diversified its interests into development, taking a 50% stake in residential project One Nine Elms, SW8, alongside R&F Properties.

It has also beefed up its team in the UK, appointing Adam Goldin from Resolution Property as head of UK, and Justin Black from Landsec as head of UK development.
