Consortium tests water with major Essex mixed-use plans

    The East of England Development Agency, Family Mosaic Housing Association and Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation have joined forces for a regeneration scheme in Essex.   The 24-acre Fiddlers Reach site on the bank of the River Thames in Thurrock has been earmarked for a mixed-use development including 1,200 homes, bars, cafes and restaurants.   Two acres will be reserved for an office and warehouse development.   The scheme will be launched for public consultation this month at the Thames Gateway Forum, with plans to be submitted in the first half of next year.   Construction consultancy Avebury has advised the project partners.   helen.roxburgh@egi.co.uk
