Plans have been unveiled for the £80m regeneration of an historic riverside area in Newcastle’s east end.
The Ouseburn Development Partnership, a consortium comprising Miller Homes, Bellway, Centreland and architects Ian Darby and Ryder, was selected in August last year to develop an urban village at the 100ha (247-acre) Ouseburn Valley development area. The land covers the Ouseburn Valley conservation area and adjoining land at East Quayside, and formerly housed a Maynard’s toffee factory.
The consortium’s plans (pictured) comprise over 500 homes and 80,000 sq ft (7,432 sq m) of commercial space, as well as leisure and public amenities.
