A consortium of developers, funds and universities has won consent for 77,107 sq m (830,000 sq ft) of offices and R&D space on a 25.5ha (63-acre) site near Bristol.
An Academic Innovation Centre (AIC) will form a key feature of the scheme. Local planning authority South Gloucestershire council is expected to grant reserved matters consent for the AIC in June.
The land earmarked for the development – to be known as QWest – overlooks the M4 but will be accessed via the Avon Ring Road.
The consortium behind the development comprises: Laing Property, London & Metropolitan, Sydney Freed, Electricity Supply Nominees (ESN); and the universities of Bristol and Bath.
