Qatar’s Constellation Hotels has reached an agreement to buy Claridge’s, the Berkeley and the Connaught from the Barclay brothers for an undisclosed sum.
The deal involved the Qatari company buying the Barclay brothers’ 28% stake in Maybourne Hotel Group, as well as a 35.8% interest held by founder Derek Quinlan.
The deal ends litigation going back several years relating to Patrick McKillen’s interest in Maybourne, which he also helped found.
McKillen will oversee the future redevelopment of Claridge’s and the Berkely.
