Construction of high-rise buildings hits record

The number of high-rise buildings planned or under construction in London has reached a record-high 455, according to a survey by New London Architecture.

There has been no Brexit downturn, its chairman, Peter Murray, said.

Some 48 high-rise buildings progressed from the planning stage to the construction stage over the course of last year, increasing sharply from the prior period. A record 26 buildings of 20 or more storeys were completed, of which 24 were residential.
