Cool climate in German office markets

A survey by DTZ of the German office market shows that only 20% of the 72 banks, investors and project developers asked were optimistic about the future.

Two years ago the figure was 70%. Of those surveyed, 30% are negative about the leasing market, compared to 4% in spring 2000. This pessimism is not surprising, as Atis Real Müller reported recently that demand for office space was down 18% in 2001, with many deals being postponed as a result of the downward economic trend and the impact of the terrorist attacks in the US.
