Macquarie-backed offshore wind developer Corio Generation is in talks to take office space in the City fringe, as part of its search for a new London base.
The company, owned by Macquarie’s Green Investment Group, is considering 13,408 sq ft in Helical and Ashby Capital’s JJ Mack Building, EC1, among other options.
Asking rents for the JJ Mack Building, which measures more than 200,000 sq ft, are above £80 per sq ft.
Other options include staying put at HB Reavis’ Bloom Clerkenwell, EC1, having signed for flex space at the property last year. It took nearly 6,000 sq ft of its “Ready to Work” concept on the first floor.
Tenants in the JJ Mack Building include global private markets firm Partners Group, which signed for 37,880 sq ft across floors six and seven in November 2022.
The news comes as Sainsbury’s is nearing a deal to occupy 70,000 sq ft across three floors for its new headquarters, as revealed by EG. The company plans to relocate to a smaller footprint in the ESG friendly site from Tishman Speyer’s 33 Holborn, EC1.
