Corio has appointed Jaap Blokhuis as COO/CIO.
The Dutch shopping centre specialist had been planned to announce a different candidate for the role, but the person withdrew at the last minute owing to unforeseen personal medical circumstances, said the company.
Blokhuis, who will resign from his position on Corio’s supervisory board to take over his new post, will report to CEO Gerard Groener and be responsible for the disposal programme of the Traditional Retail Centre portfolio of €1.4bn, which Corio is planning to sell over the next three to four years.
Corio’s previous COO, Francine Zijlstra, left in December 2012 after 22 years’ service at the company.
