Cornerstone transactions hit US$12bn

FINANCE: Cornerstone Real Estate Advisors secured a record US$12bn (£7.8bn) of transactions in 2014, with a number of purchases taking place in Britain.

The global real estate investment manager’s transactions were up by 22% from 2013.

Highlights included equity acquisitions in 2014 totalling $2.1bn, while some $6.4bn was invested in real estate debt.

London buys include office building 7-10 Waterloo Place, SW1, for £35m from Access Industries last November.

Charles Weeks, chief executive of Cornerstone Europe, said: “As we continue to build out our operations here in Europe, we would expect activity levels to continue to increase further in the months and years ahead.”
