Cornwall is set to receive a set of devolved powers in chancellor George Osborne’s next budget, including control over health and care spending.
County council discussions also included negotiations over new powers over transport and housing.
Osborne’s next budget speech, on Wednesday, is expected to include a raft of new powers for various cities and regions including Leeds, North Yorkshire and the North east, in addition to Cornwall.
Cornwall will be the most rural area to win a devolution deal and will not be required to elect a mayor, unlike other cities and regions.
