Corporate confidence hits new low

Business confidence has fallen to a 15-month low, according to a survey by Lloyds Banking Group.

The survey found that soaring inflation and the associated cost-of-living squeeze were piling the pressure on business leaders.

Corporate sentiment is now at its lowest point since March 2021. Lloyds said that while employers remained “broadly positive” they faced “several challenges ahead, including concerns around higher costs and slowing demand”.
