Cortland BTR director moves to GAA

Tom Grey has been hired as a director at consultancy Global Apartment Advisors from Cortland.

Grey will lead on business development, client management and consultancy service delivery. He has been the owner and director of consultancy and property investment company Grid Property Solutions since 2009, and his previous roles include director of BTR consultancy (UK) at Cortland Consult, build-to-rent director at furnishing and fit-out company David Phillips and investment director – consultancy at L1 Capital.

He said: “GAA is embarking on significant growth in the UK and overseas. Having worked in the BTR sector since its nascence 15 years ago, and in residential real estate for nearly a decade before that, I am excited to use my extensive industry network to support the next stage of the GAA journey.”

His appointment to GAA comes as Bidwells has hired operational living expert Iain Murray from Cortland along with his former Cortland Consult team.

Along with Grey, GAA has also hired Erica D’Souza as an associate director from Colliers’ residential team.

Her role at GAA will be to provide strategic advice to stakeholders, including developers, investors and operators, to support the creation of institutional-grade assets across different locations in the living sector.
