The FBI has searched the Atlanta headquarters of BTR-focused Cortland Management as part of an investigation into price fixing in the industry.
The raid was confirmed to EG by a spokesperson from the group’s UK arm, Cortland Consultancy.
The spokesperson said: “The Federal Bureau of Investigation executed a limited search warrant at our Atlanta office as part of an ongoing investigation by the US Department of Justice into potential antitrust violations in the multi-family housing industry.
“We are cooperating fully with that investigation, and we understand that neither Cortland nor any of our employees are ‘targets’ of that investigation. Due to the ongoing litigation, we cannot comment further at this time.”
