Costcutter could be about to join other retailers stirred into deal-making after Tesco’s move to acquire Booker at the beginning of the year.
The managing director of owner Bibby Line, Sir Michael Bibby, told Costcutter members in a letter that exciting opportunities were on the table and that he expected to be able to make a formal announcement soon.
He did not clarify, however, whether Costcutter would be the dealmaker or a target.
