Council appoints Queensberry for Nuneaton regeneration scheme

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has appointed Queensberry as the development partner for part of its plan to regenerate Nuneaton’s town centre.

Queensberry will help deliver the Abbey Street part of the regeneration initiative, which is one of 12 key sites identified in the overall project. Proposals for this part of the project include a cinema, bars and restaurants.

The Transforming Nuneaton programme comprises a partnership between Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Warwickshire County Council and the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership.

Julie Jackson, leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, said: “The council is keen to keep moving forward and to be ready to take advantage of all opportunities as soon as we return to some form of normality.”

Queensberry’s other development projects include a £470m mixed-use scheme for Sheffield City Council, anchored by 140,000 sq ft let to HSBC; The Glass Works in Barnsley, comprising 500,000 sq ft retail and leisure for Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council; and advising Meyer Bergman on its Borough Yards redevelopment.
