Kensington & Chelsea Council’s planning committee has agreed to approve revised plans for Meyer Bergman’s residential development at 100 West Cromwell Road, W14, after the scheme was called in by Sadiq Khan.
The council reiterated its concerns over light loss to neighbours, but approved the scheme providing the council is included in negotiating planning obligations.
The revised 462-flat development will now be considered by the mayor of London.
Khan called in the scheme in July 2019, after the council refused consent citing lack of affordable housing, poor access and integration with the surroundings.
The scheme was subsequently amended, rising from 22 to 29 storeys, allowing for an additional 35 homes and boosting the affordable component to 35% by floorspace and 40% by habitable room.
Merger Bergman acquired the site from Tesco as part of a 14-site portfolio in a £250m deal in 2015.
