Council leader blesses Liverpool CDP

Liverpool council leader Warren Bradley has given his support to the Liverpool Commercial District Partnership (LCDP) ahead of its official incorporation next week.

The organisation aims to provide a single voice for developers, landlords and occupiers in Liverpool’s emerging commercial district around Old Hall Street.

It is modelled on the Piccadilly Partnership in Manchester.

Bradley said: “Liverpool‘s commercial district is becoming an increasingly successful element in the renaissance of the city.

“This new partnership – led by the private sector – can drive it forward to greater achievements and, as business champion, I want to show my support for this venture.”

Former Manchester city centre manager Paul Rice will take on the role of chief executive of LCDP full time from Monday 26 March.

Lesley Chalmers, chief executive of developer English Cities Fund, will be chairman of LCDP.

The majority of LCDP stakeholders have pledged financial support to the organisation.

They include Downing, Bruntwood, English Cities Fund, UK Land & Property, Rumford Investments and Albany Assets.

Surveyors Mason Owen, Keppie Massie, King Sturge, CB Richard Ellis and Irving Rice are also members, alongside a number of local occupiers.
