FINANCE: House builder Countryside has seen operating profits more than double to £53.4m in the year to the end of September.
The company reported record private sales during the period of £137.3m, up from £49.2m for the same period last year. Completions increased by 44.4% to 2,034 during the year.
Countryside has a land bank of 23,990 plots, of which 13,408 have planning consent.
Ian Sutcliffe, Countryside’s executive chairman, said: “We enter the new year with a record order book, robust trading and a strongly positioned land bank, which gives us confidence in the continued growth of the business.”
