Countryside taps Wates for partnerships director

Countryside has hired former Wates director Kate Ives as strategic growth director for its partnerships division.

Ives (pictured) was director of strategic growth Wates Residential. She worked at the company for five years, with previous development roles at First Base and AV Jennings in Australia. Ives is also a non-executive director for affordable housing provider Barking and Dagenham Homes.

At Countryside, she will focus on growth plans in London and the south of England.

Earlier this year the company outlined plans to focus solely on its social housing and private rental business via a rebranded company named Countryside Partnerships. The shift will also see it offload the private housebuilding business and land, which it expects will generate £450m by September 2023.

Mike Woolliscroft, chief executive the partnerships south division at Countryside, said: “Kate’s appointment reflects the importance Countryside places on carefully executed regeneration projects for the future of communities and towns, particularly the social impact and legacy aspects of our work.”
