Countrywide has appointed Bruce Marsh to the role of chief operating officer.
Marsh will report to Paul Creffield, group managing director. He will serve as an executive director on the board of Countrywide.
Marsh is an experienced senior executive, having most recently helped oversee the recovery of Tesco in the role of finance director, UK, booker and Republic of Ireland, where he sat on the UK board.
Prior to Tesco, he spent seven years at Kingfisher in broader business roles of group strategy director and as managing director at Kingfisher Future Homes, where he launched its group innovation hub.
Peter Long, executive chairman of Countrywide, said: “Bruce brings valuable management experience and has a proven track record that will assist the company’s turnaround strategy, and his appointment will complement and strengthen the executive team both now and for the future.”
