Birmingham developer Court Collaboration has received planning consent for 995 flats at its Stone Yard scheme in Digbeth.
The development comprises seven residential buildings of up to 30 storeys, with 30,000 sq ft of commercial space, including a gym, cinema and co-working space.
Court Collaboration is working with Midlands property tycoon Tony Gallagher, who acquired the 3.4-acre site of the former Bullring Trading Estates from A&J Mucklow in 2017.
Managing director Alex Neale said: “The Stone Yard will be a fantastic addition to Digbeth and will further open up the area, forming a critical part of the city’s economic recovery strategy following the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Court Collaboration aims to start development during the first quarter of 2021.
The approval follows recent success in the past year, with consents at New Garden Square in Edgbaston and One Eastside, which is set to be the city’s first skyscraper.
