The Coventry Building Society, the 13th largest building society, is to stop selling endowment mortgages and is cutting its nine-year tie with insurers Commercial Union. The Yorkshire and Chelsea building societies have already stopped selling endowment policies and the Cheltenham & Gloucester stopped about three years ago.
