CPO for Northampton Waterside

The government has approved a compulsory purchase order on a 2.4-acre site in the Northampton Waterside Enterprise Zone.

Communities Secretary Eric Pickles passed the order on St Peter’s Waterside, which covers a series of brownfield sites between the River Nene and St Peter’s Way.

There are plans for around 400,000 sq ft of new office space in the area, including a six-storey, 40,000 sq ft innovation centre led by the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation and the University of Northampton.

WNDC now owns all of the vacant land, five commercial properties and 10 residential properties in St Peter’s Waterside. Work is expected to start on site this summer.
