CPO issue raises problems for Waitrose Marlow extension

Waitrose has run into opposition to plans to extend its Marlow supermarket in Buckinghamshire as part of a redevelopment backed by the local council.

The council has organised a referendum over a possible compulsory purchase order which the redevelopment could require.

Two thousand residents have voted overwhelmingly against this. Waitrose says the majority of locals want the store expanded.
