Creative Places reshapes team amid shake-up

Cambridge-based real estate adviser Creative Places has repositioned its top team following the retirement of co-founder and chief executive Jonathan Burroughs.

Liam Nicholls, who has served as a partner for the past eight years, will replace Burroughs as chief executive.

Established in 2009 by Burroughs and John Sommerville, Creative Places has grown across the research and development sector, expanding its client base to include the University of Cambridge, MedCity, Kadans, British Land, Mission Street and Oxford Properties.

In addition to the leadership transition, the firm has promoted Seb Denby to the role of partner. He joined Creative Places in 2022 from Carter Jonas and has supported the firm in advancing its capabilities across R&D projects in the Golden Triangle.

Nicholls said: “These changes signal a new phase for the company. As CEO, I look forward to continuing Creative Places’ tradition of excellence in research and development real estate as we evolve and grow to respond to the needs of the next generation of research and development occupiers and investors.”
