Crossrail’s Paddington plans revealed

Estates Gazette this week unveils the first look at Crossrail’s plans for a 320,000 sq ft development at its Paddington Triangle site, W2.

The 15-storey Grimshaw Architects-designed scheme will be office-led, with shops at ground level. It will sit at the junction of Bishops Bridge Road and the Grand Union canal. Work on site could begin by mid-2016, when the new station connecting Paddington and the Hammersmith & City line is complete.

Plans, which have been worked up with the help of Network Rail and Transport for London, are expected to be submitted to Westminster city council before the end of the month.

The seven new central London Crossrail stations being built are expected to lead to a total of 2.5m sq ft of above-station developments.
