Sir Robin Budenberg has had his final term as chair of the Crown Estate extended by up to a year.
Budenberg, who is also chair of Lloyds Banking Group, will stay in post until July 2025. He has served two terms at the Crown’s chair.
The extension has been granted to allow a “smooth transition” once a new chair for the landed estate is found.
Dame Karen Jones has also been reappointed to the Crown Estate board to serve a second four-year term, effective from 1 January 2024. Jones has served on the board since 2020.
Jones co-founded Café Rouge and Pelican Group and brings a range of expertise across the food and beverage and leisure sectors to the Crown.
The positions are appointed by the King under royal warrant, following recommendation by the chancellor of the exchequer and the prime minister.
