Cumberland Commercial has acquired more space for its planned 200,000 sq ft office in Southampton.
The family-run, self-funded development company has purchased 18-20 Cumberland Place, four years after buying 20-21 on the same road.
A 200,000 sq ft development is now planned for the combined sites, for which a single prelet tenant is sought.
David Hill, managing director of Cumberland Commercial, said the cost of the development will be known in late September, when an architect for the project is appointed.
Agents say recently signed office leases in the area have been for between £15 and £20 per sq ft.
CB Richard Ellis advised Cumberland Commercial, and Jones Lang LaSalle will also be advising on the project as it develops.
