Curlew Student Trust has taken its number of rooms at completion to more than 7,000 after acquiring four forward-funding schemes.

The trust, a CBRE Global Investment Partners venture launched in late 2013:

  • has a regeneration of Lime Street, Liverpool – 28,000 sq ft of shops and leisure units, a 101-bedroom hotel prelet to Premier Inn, and a 412-bed student accomodation – with developer Neptune Developments;
  • has 283 beds and commercial space at Vincent’s Walk, Southampton, to be delivered in 2017;
  • added to its 151 rooms in flats in Potterow, Edinburgh, with a second, smaller development with KR Developments, opposite the University of Edinburgh Students’ Association;
  • will own up to 253 student accomodation rooms above the redeveloped Riverwalk Shopping Centre on the Durham waterfront. It is part of a £30m redevelopment by Clearbell with 35,000 sq ft of restaurants, 23 shops, and a 20,000 sq ft Odeon cinema.

Alex Bignell, head of UK at CBRE Global Investment Partners, said: “The latest acquisitions are in prime locations within leading British university cities and we are confident that they will prove to be attractive investments for our clients.”
