Residential and commercial agency Currell has bought a 5,000 sq ft building at 61-63 Wallis Road, E9, in Hackney Wick, as it expands its east London operations.
The Islington and Hackney agent will use part of the office for its own agency and is seeking tenants for the remaining space. It is understood to have paid £1.3m for the building.
Hackney Wick and the neighbouring Fish Island are expected to accommodate between 4,500 and 5,000 new homes by 2025. Currell sold one of the first new developments on Fish Island, Biggs Square, in 2008 for housing provider Family Mosaic.
Anne Currell, group chief executive, said: “Hackney Wick and Fish Island are areas of great opportunity, with the potential for carefully managed development that will provide not only much-needed new homes but also opportunities for leisure and employment.”
