Cushman & Wakefield has advised ceramics supplier Steelite International on a deal to buy its headquarters in Middleport, Stoke-on-Trent.
The 12.7-acre site, which comprises both manufacturing and distribution facilities totalling 473,675 sq ft, changed hands in a £14.4m deal.
The factory, known as the Potteries, which sits close to the A500, providing access to J15 and J16 of the M6 motorway, was last owned by Steelite 21 years ago before being sold in 2003 to Somerset Council.
Bruce Poizer, head of capital markets at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “This acquisition for Steelite affirms their commitment to Stoke-on-Trent. They were able to take advantage of current market conditions to make this strategic purchase.”
Jon Cameron, group finance director at Steelite, said: “Keeping our operations and the manufacture of our ceramics in the Potteries is incredibly important, and this strategic purchase allows us to further embed ourselves in the region and invest in the future.”
JLL represented the vendor.
