C&W recruits BNP PRE senior director

Cushman & Wakefield has appointed BNP Paribas Real Estate senior director and Birmingham head of investment Andrew Meikle as an international partner in its national offices and UK capital markets teams.

Andrew Meikle

Meikle spent nearly 10 years at BNP PRE, where he advised investor clients on the acquisition and disposal of commercial property assets and development funding, as well as corporates on sale and leasebacks.

Prior to that, Meikle worked at CBRE for nearly 14 years, six of which were as a director in Birmingham, where he established the development consultancy team. He focused on consultancy, land transactions and development funding in that role before moving into capital markets activity.

Meikle’s transactional experience includes advising M&G Real Estate on the funding of Three Snowhill – at 420,000 sq ft, the largest single speculative office funding ever undertaken outside London; advising HSBC Alternative Investments on its £265m acquisition of several buildings at Brindleyplace; and the sale of the 180-acre Derby Commercial Park to Goodman Logistics.

In his new role at C&W, Meikle will be responsible for driving activity in the Midlands and further afield. He will be based in Birmingham.

Jon Leedham, head of national offices and regional managing partner for the Midlands at C&W, said: “Andrew’s deep experience in Birmingham, across the Midlands and wider regional markets, as well as the broad skillset he will bring to the firm, will significantly benefit our clients.”

Jason Winfield, head of UK capital markets at C&W, said: “Andrew is in the very top tier of capital markets advisers operating in the UK’s regional market. He brings the senior insight, connections and experience craved by investors in an evolving market. He is a great addition to our already strong team.”
