Cushman & Wakefield has appointed JLL retail investment director Josh Vernon as a partner to lead its shopping centre and in-town retail capital markets business.
Vernon has worked at JLL for the past 12 years, where he gained experience transacting on a wide array of retail properties before advancing to director in its shopping centre investment team.
At C&W, Vernon will be responsible for UK in-town retail investment activity, covering shopping centres as well as individual stores.
Vernon will work closely with Marcus Wood, who was recently appointed to lead C&W’s retail capital markets team.
Dominic Bouvet, head of UK retail and leisure at C&W, said: “Josh’s appointment is significant, not simply for his transactional experience but also to support our incredibly strong valuation and advisory business with insight into the capital markets.”
Jason Winfield, head of UK and Ireland capital markets at C&W, added: “Retail capital markets is one of the most dynamic real estate sectors in the UK right now, with rising liquidity coinciding with considerable structural transformation.”
