Dairy Crest buys land for 300,000 sq ft distribution unit at Bermuda Park

Dairy Crest is understood to have bought 16 acres at Bermuda Park in Nuneaton – one of the West Midlands’ largest distribution deals this year.

The company, which will be relocating from Northampton, has already secured consent for a 28,888 sq m (310,958 sq ft) complex including a 30,000 sq ft office block; a 30 metre high-bay warehouse; and a 12 metre high storage and packaging facility.

When Dairy Crest’s scheme is completed next year, Bermuda Park will provide over 92,900 sq m (1 million sq ft) with a range of occupiers including Electrocomponents and Canada Life Assurance.

Although terms of the deal are confidential, Bermuda’s owner Tawnywood has recently sold land at prices ranging between £260,000 and £275,000 per acre.

Rumsey & Co, which acted for Tawnywood, also have one deal on eight acres and another two of 2.5 acres each in solicitors hands.

Only half the 220 acres on the park are still available, but further deals are likely to be limited to design-and-build or leasehold sales.
