Dairy Crest picks up Arla plants and depots

Dairy Crest has bought Express Dairies’ depot operations and milk processing plants in Liverpool and Nottingham from Arla Foods.

It paid £32.8m, including 77 distribution depots and a substantial property portfolio, cementing its position as Britain’s biggest doorstep milk supplier.

Dairy Crest anticipates selling some of the sites, which it says have a total value of £32m.
