Damien Hirst has bought a £40m building in Soho to house his new flagship studio and art complex.
The building on Beak Street, W1, was sold by Enstar Capital and LandCap, which developed it in a joint venture.
The 27,742 sq ft grade-A building was bought through Hirst’s company Science (UK) and is currently undergoing a fit-out to open in Q1 2019.
Designed by Stiff + Trevillion, the development received planning consent in November 2015
Rakan McKinnon, founder of LandCap, said: “The bespoke hand-glazed bricks and meticulous architecture create the perfect inspirational environment for the creative group of Damien Hirst. This new art destination helps to bring back the artistic energy and creativity Soho was so renowned for.”
