Tony Danaher has been appointed as executive chairman of built environment PR agency ING Media.
The former chairman of strategic communications at property PR specialist FTI will work alongside ING founder and managing director Leanne Tritton to boost the agency’s property business while continuing his advisory work for the government on its regeneration programme and as an adviser to Lord Heseltine and Sir Michael Bear.
Danaher’s career includes a stint as assistant chief executive of the London Docklands Development Corporation before he went on to found PR company Tamesis.
His former clients include companies such as Canary Wharf Group, CBRE, British Land, Stanhope, Development Securities and HSBC. He also helped to launch the MIPIM international property conference.
Danaher said: “Above all, the opportunity to help direct a business that has placed property and design at the heart of what it does is main attraction for me. Design is the basis of good development – it’s good business sense – and ING understands that in a way few other organisations do.”
