David Lloyd Leisure has bought the Crest Sports & Leisure Club at Kidbrooke, south east London, for an estimated £1.7m from the receivers.
It plans to spend about £8m changing it into its own format.
Whitbread-owned David Lloyd has 28 clubs and has another eight in the pipeline over the next year.
