David Wilson reaches final furlong at Newbury

David Wilson Homes has handed over the final payment for the land at its Newbury Racecourse redevelopment in Berkshire.

The £10.7m was paid to Newbury Racecourse yesterday, the final sum from the original agreement announced in 2012.

Under the 10-year redevelopment plan David Wilson has built almost 1,500 homes and a hotel and upgraded the racecourse.

Newbury said that while some of the homes have yet to be built, yesterday marked the final payment under David Wilson Homes’ minimum land value commitment as set out in the joint venture development agreement.
