Davidson heads up business space as MEPC restructures

Following the sale of all its assets in Australia and the US, MEPC has restructured its property teams in the UK and created a new business space department under director Gavin Davidson.

Davidson, who will be reporting to corporate development director Robert Ware, will oversee a portfolio which will comprise the company’s industrial assets and its business parks, which are currently in its office portfolio.

An MEPC spokesman said that the new department reflected the blurred boundaries between MEPC’s industrial estates and business parks: “The distinction between industrial assets such as Milton Park, Abingdon, and true business parks such as Chineham Business Park in Basingstoke, is becoming increasingly imperceptible. These changes will give the group a more appropriate structure.”

Other members of the business space team will be Rebecca McLoughlin, Tim Davis and Grant Edmondson.

The move also means that Ware’s responsibilities have continued to grow. As MEPC’s newest board member – he was last June – he was put in charge of the £600m industrial and small property portfolio after Iain Watters’ role as chairman of MEPC UK was revamped in December.

Nathan Thompson will direct the office sector, which will continue to report to Watters. Richard Shaw will join the office team.

Richard Exley’s portfolio will be extended to include retail warehousing and leisure and he will continue to look after Factory Outlets. Mark Beckham and Mark Younger will join the team.
