Dawnay Shore Hotels (DSH) says the speculation surrounding the Dawnay Day Group does not affect its continued management or its hotel portfolio.
The company, which owns 20 four star hotels across the UK, said it was independent of the ownership of Dawnay Day and the operation of its Barceló Hotels chain in Britain was unaffected.
Dawnay Day owns an 8% share in DSH.
“DSH is an independent company which has leased its 20 hotel properties to a single blue chip tenant for 45 years,” the company said.
“The hotels are now operated under its tenancy by the Barceló group of Spain, one of Europe’s leading hotel operators.”
In a separate announcement, The Hotel Corporation, whose principal asset is a 49.9% stake in Dawnay Shore Hotels, referred shareholders to the DSH announcement.
