De Montfort successor named

De_Montfort_UniversityDe Montford University Leicester has announced its successor to Bill Maxted, the current author of the university’s respected lending report.

Maxted, who is retiring later this year, will be replaced by Nicole Lux, a former vice-president of Deutsche Bank in real estate debt restructuring.

Lux began her career with IPD (MSCI) and has worked for Moody’s Investor Service and Citigroup as well as Deutsche Bank in loan origination and restructuring. She has worked on transactions with large bank syndicates and individual borrowers across Europe.

De Montfort’s Commercial Property Lending Report takes soundings from 65 banks, building societies and insurance companies, as well as debt funds and asset management firms. It has been widely considered to be the most definitive reflection of the state of the real estate debt market in the UK since its inception in 1997.

Lux will be supported by further university research staff and will work closely with external advisers to enhance the survey.

Cillian Ryan, dean of the faculty of business and law, said: “The appointment of Nicole, along with a revamp of the report, will ensure that the UK Commercial Property Lending Report remains current and responsive to the needs of the sector when Bill retires later this year.”
