De Vere Group has announced further UK expansion plans for its Village Hotel & Leisure Club brand.
Currently operating 16 Villages in the UK, De Vere aims to add up to four or five Village Hotels & Leisure Clubs to its portfolio per year by 2008.
The latest contract to be exchanged is with AMEC Developments at Ashton Moss in East Manchester.
Another location confirmed is Solihull, where contracts have been exchanged to build a Village at The Green – a 57-acre business park close to junction 4 of the M42 – developed by joint venture partners, Opus Land, Frontier Estates and Prudential.
In a further deal Slough Estates has agreed terms to develop a Village at Farnborough Business Park.
The scheme will include a 154-bed hotel, pub, café, restaurant, conference facilities and state-of-the-art leisure club, with 25m swimming pool.
Plans have also been submitted at Centennial Business Park in Elstree, off junction 4 of the M1.
A deal has also been secured for 3.6 acres at Capitol West Business Park, Leeds.
The 55-acre former gas works is situated off junction 28 of the M62. Current occupiers include Carcraft, MFI, Carlsberg Tetley and Miller homes.
De Vere’s director of property Richard Kiersey said: “These deals confirm our commitment to expanding the Village portfolio on a nationwide basis.
“In each case we have responded to a demand for excellent on site business and leisure facilities, whilst still supporting the surrounding communities with great employment opportunities”.
