Deals still start with hard slog

The typical commercial property deal takes 15,000 contacts, according to a survey of 350 agents, developers and investors by marketing consultant Skidmore Turnbull Leetham.

It found that, on average, only one in 15 inquiries results in a viewing; 10 viewings are needed to get an offer and, on average, five offers are made before one is accepted.

The survey found that agents still rate the traditional site board as one of the best sources of leads, but they were more sceptical about newer methods such as the Internet.
