The administrators of Debenhams have made more than £7.2m in fees since the department store chain filed for insolvency two and a half years ago.
FRP Advisory was appointed in April 2020 when the retailer went bust for a second time. It oversaw the sale of the 200-year-old department store’s brand and website to Boohoo for £55m in January last year and the closure of 124 stores.
New documents show the administrator received an additional £1.9m in remuneration between April and October this year, taking the total fees received since 2020 to almost £7.3m.
FRP partners’ charges increased from £595-£695 an hour to £640-£740, while the junior professional and support staff rate rose from £175-£245 to £190-£260 per hour.
