Debenhams have taken a 94,000-sq ft department store in Sibec’s and Rush & Tompkins’ Winter Gardens in Southport, Merseyside.
The space has been let on a 35-year lease at an undisclosed rent geared to a percentage of gross annual turnover.
Due for completion in spring 1991, the scheme will provide 350,000 sq ft of retail on the site of the town’s original Winter Gardens.
Also included will be a food court, food hall and 1,000 parking spaces plus a 150-bedroom hotel designed in a crescent above the shops.
Letting agents are Richard Ellis and Mason Owen & Partners. Architects for the project are Chapman Taylor & Partners.
