Debenhams has plans to expand the number of its stores from 96 to 104 by 2004.
New stores are lined up for Edinburgh, Scotland, Basingstoke, Hampshire, Redditch, Hereford & Worcester and Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
It intends to open shops at a rate of three a year from 2003.
